Service Providers Discover Well-Designed Risk Management Systems
Today's economic challenges and regulatory requirements force service suppliers to implement Web-based, integrated safety and risk management database systems to cut back their risk to public safety and ensure compliance to global flight safety standards. Several regulatory standards have surfaced since ICAO's November 2006 SMS mandate printed in the ICAO SMS Manual 9859.
Adherence to these standards is obligatory and several organizations have taken ICAO's lead by publishing their own set of best methodologies and auditing guidelines, together with IOSA, IS-BAO, Air Charter Safety Foundation, ISAGO, EU/JAR Ops (Joint Aviation Requirements) Quality Assurance. Common SMS tool kits are designed in keeping with the principles printed during this documentation.
