The transformation of a patch of arable land in to an Eden is very much like Cinderella's transformation in to a beautiful princess; you either require a fairy godmother or a large bank account in order to succeed. Say hello to your very own fairy godmother and follow an easy step by step process in order to make your garden design a success with minimum expenditure. Before touching a shovel to the dirt, it is immensely important that you have a plan as to what your garden design will look like. The reason for this is that one must keep in mind that landscaping is not merely an art but is also a science and thereby requires a thorough understanding of the fundamentals in nature and construction in order to blend them successively. In home landscaping, it is important that when one decides the nature of their garden design that they would pay attention to the following areas.

Before modifying anything, a good landscaper will always first acknowledge the various features of their land that they do not need to improve and use as it is in order to enjoy a more naturalistic landscape design. Natural features such as the shape of the terrain, the elevation of the land and even naturally accumulated bodies of water can be utilized successively with minimum or no alteration. This can be done in order to acquire a more desired effect than spending bundles of money to do away with it all only to replace it after realizing that your garden looked better before than after. Do not ignore nature's signals. For example if your garden already has a natural pond or creek or even a spot where the occasional puddle gathers due to hollow ground, it might be the most suitable place to include a water feature for your landscape; may it be a rocky lily pond or a mini water fountain.

Do not be daunted by the many birds that flock to a certain place in your lawn every morning or the wild shrubbery that tend to grow on the edges of it. Such living elements will most definitely enhance the beauty within your garden fence. A little known landscaper's secret is that shrubbery can in fact enhance the borders of your garden more artfully than any other plant while being immensely affordable. All one needs is a little pruning and knowhow on which shrub to keep or plant and which to get rid of. Various evergreen shrubs are always a popular choice because they create mystically attractive hedges whilst sprouting exotically untamed clusters of colorful flowers. More shrubs that produce berries can also be used to enhance and direct the residing wildlife to an area of the lawn that would catch the eye in an artistically nonchalant fashion.

Other Human elements such as buildings, walls, gates, or any architectural structure that is already on the land need not be overly modified. A good coat of fresh paint almost always does the trick. Abstract features that come with the land such as weather and lighting conditions also play a major role in beautifying your garden. Unnecessary lighting should be done away with. A few simple floating sola powered lights in your pond or little fairy lights in the night can always do the trick most of the time. Thereby the visual panorama of landscaping is a beautiful task that is guaranteed to relax and restore your mind if done in the right way in presidency with nature.
