Never mind those advertisements that tell you go to out there and buy various forms of equipment if you want to get in shape. Those items can be heavy, take up lots of space, and they are often over priced. You also don't need to pay for an expensive gym membership either. You don't need any equipment at all to get a great workout.

There are plenty of body weight exercises that you can do in order to see results. These are forms of exercise that you do that involve using your own weight in order to offer resistance. That is all you need to be able to get started. Keep your money in your pocket and focus on the different types of exercises you can take part in.

You will find that there are quite a few different types of exercise that fall into this category. Ideally, you want to involve a variety of them in your workout. That way you can work on different muscle groups located all over the body. Challenge yourself to do more repetitions with them as your strength and endurance level increase.

Push ups are one of the best body weight exercises for your arms. If you want to build the muscles here then do them several times per week. Push ups will also help you to get toned in the arms and shoulders. Both the back and the abdomen can become stronger and more defined when you do push ups as well.

Pull ups are another great exercise for the arms. However, they are somewhat harder for the beginner to do. Still, give them a try and do what you can. Find a place in your home where you can safely do this. You will need some type of bar that you can pull your entire body up with using the strength in your arms.

For the legs and thighs you will find the best body weight exercises to complete are squats. They are simple to do but it won't take very many repetitions before you start to feel the burn. Continue to do them at a consistent pace and push yourself to complete as many sets of them as you can. Do them every other day and you will notice changes to the look of your legs and your thighs.

The best part of about body weight exercises is that you can do them anywhere. You can do them at home any time of the day or the night. If you travel often for work you can also perform them. You won't have to miss out on your workout because you are away on
business or even a vacation.

When you are doing any such exercises you want to make sure you perform them correctly. Doing so will help you to have the best overall benefits from the workout. At the same time you will be able to prevent the risk of injuries from occurring. Make sure you stretch your muscles before and after you do any of these exercises.
