For a company to run its operation smoothly, they should have a proper set of employees, on the workforce or management team, blue or white collar job, or any other designation. Keeping the employees safe and healthy through good workplace health practices are a big concern for all companies in different industries.

Combining good health consciousness and a safe workplace can benefit a company more than just healthier employees. Working in a safe environment and being healthier make employees more productive with their jobs. Issues involving mental health and other psychological problems are important to check as they also affect workplace health. Experiencing stress or feeling burnt out can result to an employee having psychological issues, mental health problems also arises when they are being harassed or experiencing violence in the workplace. Company sponsored activities such as teambuilding activities, sports festivals between departments, campings, and others are a great way for stress to be lessened or even eliminated. The important thing to remember is that the employees should feel that they have an opportunity to let loose with their co-workers outside their workplace.

Companies sometimes tend to overlook some common causes of psychological problems and usually, they overlook some forms of emotional and verbal harassments. Negative effects of these harassments are not immediately witnessed by people around the affected employee, but it usually comes out a long time after the harassment happened, as they have a long lingering effect in the mind. People often feel less confident and have lower self esteem as a result of repeated verbal or emotional abuse, so a good workplace health policy should have a zero-tolerance for any kind of harassment whatsoever.

Another common factor to take into consideration in workplace health is the idea of burnout employees. Burnout is usually caused by long term stress. Though burnout are usually caused by the individual to himself or herself, the company should be able to help employees avoid this situation.

A person who is compelled to prove oneself and work extremely hard, neglecting other social functions and personal need, is the one who becomes prone to burnout. An employee starts feeling depressed and his or her behavior changes that his or her co-workers might observe. Some studies prove that having a support group amongst employees can be helpful, that is why this will be better to include in the company's workplace health program.

Simply adhering to a zero-tolerance policy can solve any form of harassment in the workplace. A workplace that is more sociable and fun can help eliminate the feelings of stress and burnout among their employees. Increased efficiency, interest in the workplace, lower turnover rates and higher workplace health cost savings are just some of the benefits that a company can gain from implementing these simple measures.
