So joining an astronomy clud has a lot of benefits for the new or skilled astronomer. My own adivice is to visit a number of assorted clubs if you have access to them before you settle on the membership in any single club. Make sure the club you select has like-minded members. If you are already a hard-core stargazer, look for one that is committed to observing the skies on a regular basis. I know you will be be the better astronomer for it.
