The Estee Lauder Company was founded in 1946 in New York City by Mrs. Est6e Lauder and her husband, Joseph Lauder.

Est6e Lauder, who passed away in April 2004 at the age of 97, was a beauty-industry icon who literally changed the face of the cosmetics industry.
