More companies will emphasize their 'greenness' in order to gain a larger market share. Because so many consumers care deeply about the environment, this could be a strong strategy for companies like AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.

Currently, there are about 3 billion cell phone users around the world. It is expected that many of the next billion users will come from emerging markets-which is why many cell phone companies have been developing cell phones which are not dependent upon electricity.
