As of late, hurricanes have increased in frequency and velocity especially in the areas near the Carribean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. There is an ongoing story among expats that it is best to steer clear of the water in the country and at best keep away from the hazardous Mexican peppers for your own stomach’s well-being.

You need to have very discerning eye to see if there is any damage on the item you are buying. As for expensive items, do take a second at the price tags and buy only from accredited and reputable shops. If purchasing handicrafts, go direct to the producer to get the lowest price.

The average cost of living the high life in the country is US$2000. You can even spend less when you choose the right neighborhood and expensive restaurants. Finding the right place suitable for your needs and requirements within a reasonable budget is the key in make retiring to Mexico as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The electric bills you would entail is quite an expense due to the heat. As for other utilities such as gas and water, it would be quite cheap.
