A business format franchise system will usually comprise of the following elements, It should be:-


  • A proven business system

  • Replicable

  • Has national and local support in place

  • Ruled by a contract

  • Owned and protected intellectual property, logos that provide value for the system



Ideal franchisee profile

The brand owner is called the franchisor. The local operative is called the franchisee or franchise owner. Each successful franchisee will usually have at the very least the following qualities for the franchise they are running to suceed. They will be:-


  • Able to Have the ability to replicate the proven franchise system

  • Passionate about the system

  • Have the ability to serve their customers enthusiastically

  • Have a good manner when handling people

  • Know that their family has been behind them from day one

  • Have the where with all to come up with finance in order to purchase and operate their chosen franchise



Not an ideal franchisee

Not everyone is cut out for being a franchisee. Considered carefully is franchising is really what you want to do if you:-


  • Don't have the full support of your family

  • Have insufficient capital to start up your selected system

  • Do not like following other peoples ideas

  • Find it difficult to arrange your schedule and prioritise tasks
