Exercise bikes are unmatched for burning calories, raising your heart rate, and giving you a great aerobic workout. They are recommended throughout the health and exercise industry as a form of safe exercise. They are great for home use. There is a wide selection of exercise activities and exercise equipment that you can choose from. Exercise bikes are mainly used to exercise the thigh muscles and help you to stay in shape and fit. Exercise bikes are an ideal option for losing weight. They are a fun way to get your cardio workout. They are a long time fitness favorite because they are comfortable, easy and fun for every fitness level. Basically, there are two or three types of bikes: upright, recumbent and semi-recumbent.

Upright bikes

Upright bikes ride are similar to a regular bike, and usually have a well-padded seat for comfort. Upright exercise bikes are one of the least expensive forms of stationary exercise, priced considerably less than treadmills. Upright exercise bikes are the most popular form and are more compact than most machines. Upright models take up less space and will simulate the feel of a traditional cycle better. Upright exercise bikes are perfect for people who want a great, low impact workout in a limited space.

Recumbent bikes

Recumbent exercise bikes on the other hand are so comfortable and easy to use that eventually you can do workouts giving you results like you've spent hours a day on a stair-stepper. Recumbent bikes are probably slightly more comfortable having a bucket seat. Recumbent bikes are great if you suffer from lower back pain, or if you find saddles to be particularly uncomfortable and sore, recumbent exercise bikes are definitely for you. They, however, allow your hands to be free to hold a book or magazine, video game controller, or phone. Similar to outdoor recumbents, these bikes position the rider much lower, and parallel to the ground. They can give you a fat burning cardio workout with enough resistance to help you build long, lean muscle. They are also excellent for your inner thighs.

Semi-recumbent bikes

These have chair-like, or bucket seat more comfortable than an upright bike and provide better back support, promote more efficient blood flow throughout the body and prevent you from cheating on peddling because you can't stand up.

Buying a bike

For those who are not familiar with which exercise bike equipment to buy, they should first stop at a specialty fitness store or exercise equipment dealer that can answer as well as demonstrate. Like online stores, when you buy directly online from the manufacturer, you also can usually get a discount on shipping and save on sales tax. This basically means that you can buy a health club bike for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price (and even get a pretty decent warranty included).

I think exercise bikes are among the best investments you can make. They are popular among people who want a regular overall body workout without using too many types of exercises equipment. They are fantastic exercise devices for all levels of motivated health and fitness seekers, including beginners.
