It seems to me that fish oil in one form or another is becoming more popular on a daily basis, which is nothing new after all people have been taking cod liver oil for numerous years as a supplement. Nonetheless research is establishing that the oil from oily fish such as salmon or tuna is particularly advantageous for you. So lets see if we can understand exactly what does fish oil do and why it is good for you.

In recent years there has been something or a phenomenon in that scientific research has been backing up what holistic practicians have been on about for years and that is the gains of consuming fish oil: at first they were both in unison about consuming oil as a supplementation because of the results people with joint pains got from taking it. People that were suffering from joint pain got such excellent results because the properties in the supplements were brilliant at combating inflammation which causes health matters like arthritis.

It is now known that just over half of your brain is made up of fats, but the astonishing thing is that more or less half of that is DHA omega 3. What has been noted is that kids that take fish oil supplements appear to have improved concentration and learning capacities, and ADD sufferers seem to find an improvement with their condition too. As well as that it is thought to be very beneficial against other things associated to the brain along the lines of Alzheimer's, depression and mood swings but to name a few. Being practical a majority of people will not suffer from these conditions, but even so by supplementing with DHA omega3 they find themselves with better memory, focus and concentration.

We are not finished yet though, taking fish oil is related with many other good health properties, and whilst I am not claiming it is a miracle cure it certainly can assist with them. It is considered (although further research is needed) that it can help fight against some certain cancers. It is also believed that it contains properties which can help with certain types of skin conditions and many other conditions that we have to put up with as humans.
