One time in a time, everybody wants to lie back and rest. Simply to sleep and get a rest in sweet restfulness. Have a massage, take pleasure in one's time. The West Bohemian Spa Triangle is a just right location for the rebirth of your soul & body.

The long-subsided volcanic activity on the border of the Slavkov Forest was accompanied by the genesis of mineral springs that have made the region of West Bohemia well-known all-around the earth. Though Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) , established by the recognized Czech ruler Charles 4, is the most distinguished spa city in the region, there are some other no less brilliant spa towns in the territory that are exceptionally popular with both visitors with some health problems and travelers. Though the positive effects of the regional springs had evidently become known in as early as the tenth century, spas did not in fact develop until much later on, in the nineteenth century. At the same time, Franzienbad was designed at the very end of the 18th century, followed by the formation of Marianske Lazne, thus completing the "Spa Triangle". Local and foreign visitors alike have been coming to get pleasure from the indigenous mineral springs for hundreds of years; the visitors' book of the spa resorts contain the names of royals such as the English ruler Edward VII, Napoleon III, famous composers such as Fryderyk Chopin and Richard Wagner, writers such as Johann W. Goethe, Mark Twain and Franz Kafka, or for example the well-regarded Moravian-born originator of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud. However there is more. You can too benefit from the rich cultural program, set off for biking, rock climbing and seeing the sights trips, play tennis and golf, ride a horse, discover water sports in summer and cross-country skiing during winter.

Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad / Karlsbad)

Carlsbad is the best well-known spa city located in West Bohemia. It was established about 1350 by the Holy Roman Emperor & King of Bohemia, Charles IV. Its grand roads & colonnades are surrounded by calm forested hills crisscrossed with mountain climbing & biking paths that are ideal for lovely walks all year round.
A tiring cultural events calendar, many festivals and international conferences put up Carlsbad the main & liveliest spa town in the Czech Republic visited not only by the spa-guests but also celebrities. Carlsbad achieved its fame also thanks to its well-known herbal liqueur named Becherovka (nicknamed "The 13th Spring"), Mattoni mineral water, unique spa wafers, and Moser crystal glass.
The healing waters from the springs in the valley of the Tepla River have been used by people from time immemorial - both for drinking as well as bathing.

Marianske Lazne (Marienbad)

The city of Marianske Lazne lies in a beautiful wide valley in West Bohemia, 628 meters above sea level. An about 20 km wide strip of forest with many mountain climbing trails passes right all through the spa town.
Marianske Lazne enjoys an exceptional popularity all over the world both for its medical treatment methods and effective natural therapeutic sources, as well as for its charming, delightful view. Almost a hundred old springs have been discovered in and all-around the town, all with high concentration of CO2. Some were revealed as early as in the sixteenth century.
A sincere gem among the neighboring neoclassical buildings is the spa colonnade designed in 1889. The spa region is dominated by the so-called 'Singing Fountain' entertaining the passers-by with music and illumination performances.
Marienbad (Marianske Lazne) launched its 1st spa season in 1808, but rapidly became a trendy resort amongst Europe's elite. Amongst its clients were English King Edward VII., Polish composer & pianist Fryderyk Chopin and German bard Goethe.
The area spas focus in treating musculoskeletal problems, & diseases of the urinary tract, kidney and gynecological problems. The therapies are based on natural sources - cold ferrite acidulous water, natural gas, CO2 and mud.

Frantiskovy Lazne (Franzienbad)

Frantiskovy Lazne, established in 1793, is a world known spa city situated in the western part of the Czech Republic. Thankfulness to its neoclassical spa buildings and pavilions the town preserved the exclusive atmosphere of the early 20th century & is regarded as one of the most charming cities in the state.
The district provides moderate climate, clean atmosphere as well as no noise city life. Numerous parks all-around the town with its promenades & musicians are a ideal location for enjoyable walks. All these factors add to the therapeutic effects of the local mineral springs that each year draw numerous spa-goers.
