Savage armed conflict has massively detrimental effects on the field of medicine In addition to putting themselves at great physical risk during war, medical professionals are emotionally torn trying to heal without regard to nationally. It is important for doctors to remain neutral during wars, but they are always physically located with one of the sides, so this makes things dangerous.

If war ever comes to American soil, there would be greater demands on the medical profession to protect national health as well as being physically involved in both illnesses and injuries - which calls for better organization. And this will definitely send shock waves throughout the U.S. Sent off to fight in the war, local doctors would melt away, especially the younger ones. The oldest members of the profession, who may have already retired, will be asked to come back to service. You will see a decrease in the number of individual practices as they converge into clinics, and the clinics will join co-ops. Greater focus would be on stopping epidemics. After the medical industry is overextended, hard experience has demonstrated that we must be careful of widespread illness beginning.

We would see more army service units stepping up to help. There is already a listing of all American medical schools that meet the requirements. Local national guard groups have undertaken preliminary organizational efforts under the direction of the military, and could spring into quick action if necessary. The medical profession will work in coordination with the Army Sanitary Corps. Both of these groups will be involved with food purities and water supplies to make sure good health is promoted.

Numerous physicians will set about making innovations in the areas of blood transfusions, toxicology, drug therapies and the like. By doing so, they will be contribution to mass scientific research efforts. There are certain phenomena that have been observed in war settings that need to be studied like war wound shock, a mania in which men will collapse even though they have suffered almost no noticeable injury at all, so that appropriate task forces can be formed.

There will be no halt to medical teaching, but a stepping up is to occur. The most unfortunate thing to think about is because more doctors are going to be killed than ever before, more doctors will be needed. However, the very nature of this conversation we are having is hinged upon the US being in a war. If the United States were able to avoid active war participation, research in war shock and other areas of medical concern would be able to proceed without limit.

Many more accomplishments can be made if scientists work sensibly. Finding new cures to diseases or discovering new uses of vitamins aren't something that's an immediate possibility, but research work would be better utilized if it isn't done under the stress of fear of possible destruction. Anyone one out there who remembers the last war can't help but loathe the current conflict causing similar moral and intellectual deficiencies. It is important in times like these to make sure we are always level headed and that we consider all facts before acting.

However, as the months progressed and so many emotions went through us, sanity begins to crumble. Truth and morality ceased to be priorities for us. Rational thinking apparently breaches treachery. Hardness can be praised, while humanity is decried. Nobody is able to discern how far we can wander down this same path. In all of this speculation, we can be sure of one thing that always holds true in war. No one can take from the frenzied mess that has been unleashed yet again.

After the fight is over, we will be required to reestablish an economic roof above us, to fix the aftereffects of distrust and abhorrence in ourselves and to restore our ethical and intellectual reasoning. It will be useful if we are able to keep our spirits high during this trying time of reconstruction so that we can emerge from the other side of it as strong as ever.
