WANTED: A Lot Of Good People!

The United States Marines wants a “Few Good Men”. Why? To honor, protect, and serve the interests of the United States of America. And what is the United States of America? A group of 50 individual states located on and near the continent of North America. And how are these 50 individual states united? They are united under a constitution (establishing a system of laws, law enforcement, and judicial review) and a Bill of Rights (a set of laws establishing limitations of government and freedoms for the citizens of the USA).

Do these individual states have the right to “bear arms”? Yes. Each of these states can have their own standing armies in the form of a state guard (i.e. Oregon State Guard). Can individual states declare and wage war on other states? No. If the army (or Guard) of one state or groups of states were to attack another state or groups of states, the United States Army would be ordered to intervene.

Can the United States of America declare and wage war on other nations? Yes. There is no worldwide law that prevents one or more nations (or groups of people) from waging war on other nations.
Can’t the United Nations intervene in a war between nations? Yes. The United Nations Police Force has been used to stop wars, however the actions of the United Nations are controlled by the United Nations Security Council and any member nation of the UN Security Council can veto any resolution to stop a war.

How then can we stop wars and create peace on Earth? It will only be after world laws are created against war that world peace will be possible. Who will create these world laws against war? Since the United Nations is composed of representatives of all countries and the United Nations Security Council consists of standing members with political and economic differences, there is little hope that the United Nations will ever be effective in creating any world laws against war. Therefore a new organization has been proposed to undertake this objective of ending wars by creating “World Peace Thru World War”.

The name of this new organization is: The United Free Nations Organization (see UFNO.org). The UFNO will consist of individuals and those free nations that join together after subscribing to a doctrine of basic human rights for all people. Then after the UFNO creates worldwide laws against war, a UFNO Police Force will be created from the armies of the UFNO member nations. Will any nation elected to the UFNO Security Council have veto power? No. Majority rule will apply to the decisions of the UFNO Security Council.
Will the individual nations who join the UFNO still have the right to “bear arms”? Yes. Each of these nations can have their own standing army in the form of a National Police Force (i.e. United States Police Force). Then can individual UFNO member nations declare and wage war on other nations? No. If the National Police Force of one nation or groups of nations were to attack another nation or groups of nations, the UFNO Police Force would have standing orders to intervene. Likewise if any non-UFNO nation attacks any UFNO nation, the UFNO Police Force would have standing orders to intervene.
How will the UFNO be created? That will only occur if a lot of people work together to promote this idea. And how can this idea of ending wars and created peace on Earth be best promoted? Thru non-violent, political action! And how is the political action to be organized? Thru the creation of a new political party called, “The World Peace Political Party” (see W3P.info). And this is where a lot of good people are wanted and needed!

P.S. The 35th Group 8 (G8 or a group of 8 nations of the world) summit is to take place in Maddalena, Italy, in July 2009. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G8 This would be an excellent place to promote the UFNO and W3P either formally or via protest marches (non-violent of course)!
