Vista Keeps Freezing Up - What Plan of Attack Could Be Done?

If your Microsoft Windows Vista keeps freezing up, take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. You are among millions of computer users who thought Microsoft Vista would be better than XP, one giant leap forward in solving all of Windows XP's quirks, only to find out that this latest operating system is plagued with its own smorgas board of severe problems.

So, what can you do if your Vista keeps freezing up? The first answer that is most suitable for the vast majority of consumers is to revert to XP. For some people this may be an option. But, going back from Vista to XP may not be viable, because the procedure itself could be filled with obstacles of its own.

So then the problem is: Is there a way to stabilize the Vista OS?

Yes there is. Interestingly, it isn't the answer that many people would expect.

It isn't the running of anti-virus or anti-spyware software.

It isn't the defragmentation of the hard disk.

It isn't the adjustment of the virtual memory settings or the cleaning up of hard drive space.

The solution is one that is not so obvious:

Cleaning the Microsoft registry.

The Windows registry is the master database that the computer uses to store all vital information about every component of software and hardware that has ever been associated with your PC. Gradually over time, the registry will become excessively inefficient, and errors can start creeping up in the registry.

The fix is to perform a scan of your Vista registry for any inefficiencies and errors and to address them.

Optimizing your PC's Windows registry is one of the most critical aspects of sustaining the Windows operating system in good condition, to keep it running at optimum performance. You need to take your automobile in for a change of oil and a tune up on a frequent basis, don't you? In a likewise manner, your Windows operating system needs a tune up routinely, to keep it running optimally too. Failure to do so over the course of time can result in serious performance deterioration of the computing experience: The Internet web browser will run slowly, websites taking too long to load, the PC will take what seems like forever to boot up, the OS may refuse to log off, applications may freeze for several seconds at a time with no explanation, or could crash abruptly without advanced warning, and your web browser could be plagued with banner ad pop-ups that continuously respawning no matter how hard you try to clean up the system.

Think of the Windows registry like your computer's "DNA". Each key / value pair is like one of the chromosome pairs on the DNA strand, that determines every one of the OS's functions. If any of the keys or values in the registry were to be corrupted then it can bring down your entire operating system, in the similar way that a chromosome mutation can cause to the outbreak of cancer.

And, to extend the DNA example for all its worth, the the only "cure for cancer" of the OS is to optimize the registry database with the use of registry optimization software, whose goal is to "ward off" the problematic registry entries by cleaning up the registry, optimizing it, and repairing any broken links contained therein.
