Video Marketing-Finding Options That Work

There are numerous articles and blogs all over the internet showing us that video marketing works, has very impressive and fast results and is here to stay. However many marketers are slow to take advantage of it. Why?

Most people who do marketing on the internet are busy and methodical. Despite all the claims of an easy work-from-home lifestyle in internet marketing, this type of work demands a lot of time and effort on a daily basis. Many marketers learn a certain system to accomplish what is needed and when they find a system that works, they stick to it...shying away from changing their routine. However, if they are presented with a new tool that makes their current system easier or faster they may take advantage of it quickly.

Marketing with video is something that many marketers look at in the wrong way. It is simply a tool that you can add to your arsenal and incorporate into what you are already doing. The fact is that it does work, and it works well. It is not just a bunch of people playing around on YouTube. YES, you can post video versions of your marketing messages on sites like YouTube and drive traffic to your sites...and YES you do get a nice quality incoming link from a site that has millions of visitors each day. Consider how much faster this process drives traffic than conventional article marketing. Put a marketing video up on a site like YouTube and you will have it listed in search results (FREE) within hours! This is not to say that you should replace your article marketing efforts, using video only. It is simply a different flavor of article and niche marketing, one that is faster, proven effective and free. There must be a reason marketers are slow to respond.

Perhaps that for many, the problem is the creation of the video itself. It sounds intimidating, time consuming, expensive. Unless it's shooting a home movie of your vacation or baby's funny activities, a lot of people don't really want to get involved with video. Some simply don't trust it because it's unfamiliar to them as a marketing tool. Marketing with video is not nearly as difficult as it may seem, and several new methods are being developed to create these video marketing products for you.

If you are a marketer, you should at least try to get past your prejudices against video marketing. Instead of shying away from imagined problems, look at the benefits. Look at the behavior of nearly everyone around you. How many people will take time to watch a quick TV report on a news item or movie trailer, or a quick online video, as opposed to sitting down and reading an article? You already know this. Video is part of who we are conditioned to be, why not use that to your own advantage with video marketing?

Imagine a doctor's waiting room. You are there to see your doctor about a certain problem and you notice a magazine on the table listing a story on that same condition. There is also a TV monitor in the waiting room. As you sit down to wait for the doctor, a video on your "condition" begins to play on the monitor. Will you ignore the video and pick up the article to read instead? Not likely. You may want to examine both, but if both are in front of you, you will consume the video first. Why? Because video is instant information in an easy and fast format that your brain is familiar with. Put a video about a problem/solution on your niche website at the top of page 1. It will capture the attention of your site visitor in just the same way the video in the waiting room does. It simply works with our brains, and yet many remain unconvinced. The proof and statistics are all around you and common sense tells you that it is valid. You only need to make the leap in your own thinking as a marketer.

Back to the solutions, can it really be easy and affordable? The answer is yes. The solution you choose may be different for different scenarios you are trying to achieve. For creating a personal instructional video, all that is really needed is a camera, mic and some simple editing. For an effective sales tool on a niche site what you will want is something more professional. You can find do-it-yourself solutions with software programs or you can get ready-made niche videos. Obviously, something professionally done will likely look better. You can have it written by a professional copywriter, professionally voiced by experienced voice talent and edited professionally. Sounds expensive, right? A couple of years back it definitely would have been. The good news is that there are now people who will provide you with this service cheaply and professionally, especially if you join a membership program.

Video marketing is already here and getting good results for those who are open to trying it. The results speak for themselves. There were many people who once refused to buy a DVD player because they had already invested in a VHS machine and recorded a library full of movie on tapes. Eventually, most of those people ended up also buying a DVD player when they saw the ease of use and improved benefits. Of course, many still hang on to their VHS's, as a backup, just in case...and that's okay!
