Knowing your jewelry making tools, their proper usage will not only save some time, but will increase your profit as you will be able to work faster. The more that you become familiar with the tools of the trade the more efficient you'll become.

Have you tried weaving a bead ring? Getting the right ring size is a challenge if you have tried. You can adjust the dimensions of the ring band by adding beads or reducing beads on the band part of the ring. Keep in mind, there are still small variations in size that when taken all together will affect the size of the band you are weaving even if they appear to be the same size in your eyes.

Are you having difficulties getting your preferred band size? It's quite frustrating, isn't it? But you can avoid this sort of difficulty with the help of a Ring stick.

It is a stick, as the name suggest, that is slim at the top and gets gradually wider going down the stick. The size of the ring is determined thru which part of the stick it stopped when you put it in the stick. The ring size is the same as the size of the width of the stick.

This is significant when you're weaving a ring because you want to pinpoint the size of the ring band before you finally finish the band. If you had at first connected the band to the opposite side of the ring, next thing you must do is to put the ring on the ring stick to check its size.

If there is not any problem with the size of the ring, you have nothing more to do than to finish the band. However, if the size is too massive, attempt to disconnect the band and cut back the number of beads in the pattern. You should disconnect the band and increase the pattern to increase its size if it is too tiny.

You can see the great use of a ring stick in saving your time while weaving a ring band. It is highly recommended to employ a wooden ring stick rather than the metal one. The latter can cause scratches over the crystal beads.

As with all tools that you use it is important to be safe when working with them and learning some basic safety tips in jewelry making is crucial to be sure that you do not hurt yourself or accidentally harm somebody else. This is not just for when you're using high temperature torches when making handmade glass beads, but all tools in the wrong hands or used badly can be deadly.

Once you have finished working for the day make sure that you place your tools in a secure place, this can also ensure that when you start work the next day they're straightforward to find. There's nothing more annoying than having to delay work because you have misplaced a tool.
