There is no doubt that the electronic format is becoming a popular medium that would soon replace most, if not all, of the current modes of publishing in the future.

E-books are gaining popularity due to one key element that older formats could no longer offer: convenience. E-books, are faster to acquire, more compact, and even cheaper than conventional books. People are always looking for ways to make everyday activities, such as reading, easier. Now with this search for convenience, a new trend is emerging for the ever growing population of bibliophiles: the audio e-book format.

While not as popular as the printed text form, audio books have gained popularity in recent times. In Amazon.com, the world's leading online bookstore, audio books are even more popular than mass market paperback copies. Some consumers could not find the time to read, while others find reading a laborious task.

With audio books, book lovers are allowed to "read without reading" at their own convenient time and place, such as while driving, or working out. But audio books can also become quite bulky or inconvenient once they pile up, especially with their usual forms of CDs and tapes.
