Developed by Naughty Dog, the same name that gave you the Crash Bandicoot series comes with another action-adventure game all set for the PlayStation 3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the latest new sequel from the 2007 hit game Uncharted: Drakeâ??s Fortune. It was rumored by Game Informer to have a December 2008 released but was later rescheduled for a Fall release and became the most critically acclaimed game of 2009.

Once again, the game follows the adventures of hero Nathan Drake as he embarks on yet another journey to a strange land. The first game takes us to Nathan Drake chasing a treasure and was pursued by his supposed ancestor, Francis Drake. This time around in Uncharted 2, players follow Nathan on a trail of treasure found by Marco Polo. A few number of new characters have already been introduced in the game as well as the coming back of old faces.

The story is vital importance, just like the first game, the story is all about treasure hunting as well as shooting of bad guys in the process. Very much like the original the story seems a bit repetitive and cliché. But nevertheless the guys at Naughty Dog managed to pull a great sequel that comes with all the greatest bits molded into one. Humor is still used as the main factor in keeping the game more entertaining indeed. Not to mention the adlibs the characters use in portraying certain key events of the game.

Graphic wise, the game is set fully on extreme levels of graphic efficiency and are incredibly pleasingly eye candy. Backgrounds are rendered stunningly beautiful that it would manage to wet your pants off. The texture and not to mention the great detail they put onto the characters themselves. Nevertheless the game is all in its godly glory.

When it comes to the gameplay, the game is action-packed that it is bursting full of action goodness. Starting on the first few missions, the game is already putting you into one hell of a battle. The story is not told in chronological order, which may seemed to be rather awkward to many of us but in the end players can still keep track of the progress and the like. The action never seems to stop in Uncharted 2 as the first few levels of the game may seem like a peaceful platform jumping in the park but donâ??t let it fool you.

The game tends to keep the platforming into a much action pace than a normal game. There is no need to be blindsided by those hard to reach areas, but thanks to the greater scope of the camera angle those jumps and shoot-outs wouldnâ??t be that much harder. The core elements of the game is still here, it remains basic as ever, like taking cover, shooting and platforming. Newbie players wonâ??t be disappointed in the game, if a player is stuck or a long period of time, the game itself will provide useful hints to help out players where to go next.
Uncharted 2 is critically awe-inspiring and still continues to set expectations far from the usual.
