US Team Ready to Affect 2010 world cup Probabilities

The U.S. 23-man squad for the World Cup has been determined and the U.S. is expected to generate some noise in world cup 2010 probabilities.

The U.S. starts up play versU.S. England and that match may determine how far the United States goes in World Cup gambling.

United States coach Bob Bradley details his 23-man roster on Wednesday and there are a few familiar names on it. There are several new players including Edson Buddle and Herculez Gomez, and Landon Donovan and DaMarcU.S. Beasley are on the squad again. The squad had seven people cut from it. The players were defenders Chad Marshall and Heath Pearce; midfielders Robbie Rogers, Alejandro Bedoya, and Sacha Kljestan; and forwards Brian Ching and Eddie Johnson.

Donovan, Beasley, and defender Steve Cherundolo will be playing in their third World Cup this year. The majority of the people on the U.S. roster come from Europe. In fact, 17 of the 23 people have been playing in Europe. There are 2 from Mexican teams and 4 from the MLS. Eight of the players have been playing in England, 3 in Germany, 2 in Scotland, and one particular in Italy, France, Norway and Denmark.

The U.S. are listed at 52-1, making them a lengthy shot to win the World Cup. England is the first choice to win Group C, with the U.S. in 2nd. England is the odds-on favorite at -325 while the U.S. is 4-1 to win Group C. Slovenia and Algeria are not expected to be a great deal of danger in that group. Midfielders: Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), DaMarcU.S. Beasley (Rangers), Michael Bradley (BorU.S.sia Moenchengladbach), Ricardo Clark (Eintracht Frankfurt), Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Benny Feilhaber (AGF AarhU.S.), Stuart Holden (Bolton) and Jose Torres (Pachuca)

Forwards: Edson Buddle (Los Angeles Galaxy), Jozy Altidore (Hull), Robbie Findley (Real Salt Lake) and Herculez Gomez (Pachuca).

The FIFA World Cup will begin on June 11th and is expected to run through July 11th. An African country will be hosting the World Cup for the first time in history this year. South Africa trumped Morocco and Egypt for the privilege. The FIFA World Cup features 32 teams from different countries competing vs each other for the championship in football and is held once every 4 years. This event has historically been dominated by Brazil, which holds a record 5 titles and is the only squad to have played in every tournament. The current champion is Italy, which has won the title 4 times total. The following World Cup will be held in 2014 in Brazil.
