Closets are one of the most basic elements in a home. They provide the storage and organization system that flows throughout your home. Many people disregard how useful and important closets are to your everyday use. Without closets, your home may just be a landfill of assorted items, piling up on the floor, making it impossible to navigate through the hallways. Have you ever noticed there are different types of closets around the areas of your home? Each closet seems to have its own specific belongings indicated in the areas they lie in. We sometimes don’t appreciate the value and importance of closets because they are regularly established into our daily routine. If you think about it, closets are the foundations of our life. It stores our belongings and keeps us organized, to make life easier.

For our own sake, we could describe each type of closet within the area they are located in. Each location usually has its own specified item it carries. This will help us to remember where to put things and where things will be for the next time we want to use it again. The front door closet is usually the first type of closet you see. When you walk into someone’s home, there usually is a closet right next to their front door. This closet is primarily used for coats, jackets, shoes, or sports equipments. The reason why those items are specifically listed is because those items indicate that you are going outside. Everything in there is for quick access right before you head out the door. It helps to know your belongings for outdoor use are there so you don’t have trouble finding it elsewhere. It is also a place to keep guests’ belongings, so that when they leave, they are right there at the door, no worries of having to misplace them. This particular closet also keeps your home clean. Your shoes are removed at the front door and kept in the closet, so you don’t walk around your home with dirty shoes.

We then head over to the hallway or linen closets. These closets are in close proximity to the bedrooms. These closets usually store the linens, drapes, or bathroom accessories like towels. This is so that anyone can gain access to a towel, bed sheet, or other accessories, without having to go to a specific room to do so. This makes it easier for everyone to know where these types of items are in the house, so that when something is needed, it is easily accessible for everyone, not just one person.

Last, but not least, the closets of all closets, the bedroom closet. The bedroom closet holds your most prized possessions. The majority of your clothes, or even some items you want to keep private. The bedroom closet doesn’t just hold clothes, but anything you want, since this is your own personalized and private space. Nowadays, everyone has so much more to store than just clothes. These types of closets are just the basic foundations of a home. They provide the standard structure for home living.
