The New Moon was in the media in recent past as accusations of piracy was given upon a 22 year old fan when she was apprehended with a video camera in a Illinois movie theatre. If the claims of bootlegging are proven, Ms. Tupmach would spend three years in corrections.

The entire occurence started from the festivities of her sister's birthday. While taking movie footage of her sister's birthday she flashed to the film screen occasionally. In the video camera was close to a couple minutes of footage from the highly anticipated follow up of the Twilight Saga but she claims that there was no intention to develop a bootleg of the film. She adds that her voice can be heard in the tape at all times.
The story took a turn as the director of the flick, Chris Weintz, went on record saying in a text message to the Chicago Sun Times that there was no objective of the person to commit video piracy. This statement from the director helped win over the attorneys to acquit the case.
The producer which released New Moon, Summit Entertainment, backed the views of the director saying in a statement they were pleased that the charges were dropped. Even though they were satisfied that the charges were dropped on the fan of the movie, Summit Entertainment would like to express gratitude to the Muvico Theatre for reacting towards piracy as a stern issue. They also said that the capture of Tumpach would serve as deterrent for any other individual looking to rip off the entertainment industry.

News like this brings the issues of proprietary property theft to light because it is a serious problem that steals the profit of producing original material. Although, the case of Ms. Tumpach revealed no thought to resell the film it is a growing problem. In fact, piracy is said to depleat billions of dollars out of the revenues of diverse industries from music to movies and even software companies all around the world.
Proprietary property produced for online distribution can also be duplicated for piracy distribution and is one of the most easy because it is accessible by more individuals through the online usage.

The difference however is that there won't be any news of that going on because web content producers are comprised of smaller firms rather that the large conglomerates that are the backbone to the film industry.

This recent news only proves how difficult it is to govern the issues of bootlegging. There is a small line that separates piracy from being a fan and only a limited few can conclude when one starts and the other begins. USA Video Interactive Corp. are committed to be at the forefront of the issues of theft of proprietary property in hopes of protecting prospects and their much valued creations. It is factual that USA Video is one of only a fewcompanies in the watermarking sector with an actual product that has been proven to work. As far as my research has gone I haven't been able to locate many other actual operating platforms at this time and it could make this junior company a leader in the industry rapidly. Keep your eyes and ears on this little secret, it could have some value to it in the near future.
