Tips for a Chicago Win in Stanley Cup Betting

The Chicago Blackhawks played an unenviable task of going to Philadelphia for Game 3 of this hockey wagering series and trying to steal a win on the road, despite the fact that they had an intimidating 2- lead in the Stanley Cup wagering so far.

As great as this squad had appeared so far in Games 1 and 2 of this NHL wagering matchup, hitting Philly at home in the NHL playoff wagering event this year has been all but hopeless. This is, in any case, a #7 seed that's outdone the NHL probabilities the whole postseason starting with beating the #2 seed Devils and then pulling off an amazing comeback after being down 3- and beating the Bruins.

But the Blackhawks are a much better squad than any of the Eastern Conference squads the Philadelphia Flyers have played so far in the NHL playoff wagering. The pressure was off Chicago, at least for game 3. Chicago did its part and defended home ice advantage in the first two games of the Stanley Cup wagering event.

The NHL probabilities makers expected the Philadelphia Flyers to win at home and so do the blood thirsty Philly devotees. That's a lot of stress on a huge stage like the Stanley Cup Finals, however it didn't appear to have a damaging impact on the Philadelphia Flyers effectiveness.

The Flyers are staying in the tournament with a win on Wednesday night vs the Blackhawks. Because of a goal from Claude Giroux, the 4-3 win came at 5:59 into overtime.

The win snapped a 7-game winning streak that the Blackhawks were relishing till Wednesday evening. At this point, the Philadelphia Flyers are back in the game while the Blackhawks still have enough of a lead to take the title with the Stanley Cup Finals series at 2-1. The probabilities do favor Chicago, after all. Only two teams have won the first two games at home and lost the matchup anyway. Only four teams have come back from a 2- hole to win the Stanley Cup Finals. On the other hand, the Blackhawks haven't won the title since 1961 and the Flyers have more a short while ago in 1975. The probabilities do tend to favor the Blackhawks, although neither squad is exactly playing knockout games.

The Blackhawks just need to keep doing the things they were doing for the first two games and try to get leading scorer Jonathan Toews (26 points in 18 NHL playoff wagering games) more involved. He's only scored once this matchup and that's evidence of the Philadelphia Flyers stifling defense. But even lacking Toews Chicago's offense is operating just fine. He's regularly pulling away the Philadelphia Flyers best defenders and it's opened up scoring prospects for people like Marion Hossa.

On defense things might get quite dirty and quite ugly real quick in this hockey wagering matchup since the Philadelphia Flyers are going to look to ratchet up the rough play a bit. But Chicago's forwards are much larger (some of the biggest in the NHL probabilities competition) and more physical than any group the Philadelphia Flyers have played vs yet in the NHL wagering post season and this approach might even backfire.

The Blackhawks didn't have to win Game 3. They just have to stay calm and win in one of the two games in Philly to lock up the team's first Stanley Cup wagering title in decades.
