Creating a mule character.

Since every area has a mailbox, it is much easier to return to the mailbox instead of a city. Pick up gathering professions.

Gathering professions are perfect for leveling up and making gold simply because there is nothing to make. All you need to do is keep your tracking up, in the case of herbalism and mining, and have any necessary tools. You should really consider picking two gathering professions while you level up, but I would avoid picking herbalism and mining together because you can only have one form of tracking at a time. Obviously, this will fill your backpacks very quickly so you will definitely want to have that mule character at the ready.

Upgrading your bags.

If you are serious about making money whale up there is no way you can live without anything short of a 16 slot bag, and you should consider at least an 18 or 20 slot bag. The biggest waster of time is repeated trips to a mailbox or auction house and the easiest way to avoid these wasted trips is to have bigger bags. If you have any friends that do tailoring you should ask them to make you some bags, otherwise usurer early profits to upgrade your backpacks immediately.

If you do all these tricks you will find that you'll have plenty of gold for anything that you want, especially your mount and riding skill. There are a few secret places you can farm for better drops and are even some good profession recipes that you can sell to make some great gold. The best part is the higher level you are the easier this gets.
