World Cup 2010 wagering on Monday included a game from Group E as Japan battled Cameroon.

Cameroon was the favorite in World Cup odds for this game that could be viewed on ESPN.

World Cup 2010 wagering on the three-way line had Cameroon at 110, Japan at 240 and the Draw at 220. The total on this match was 2 with the over at -140. If there is a winner for this game, that winner would certainly be in good standing in Group E. The fight is truly for second place since the Netherlands are anticipated to win the whole group.

This will be the sixth World Cup for Cameroon, the most of any team from Africa. Cameroon is led by star striker Samuel Eto'o. He's capable of practically anything with Cameroon, from scoring major goals to not showing up whatsoever. Eto'o gets much of the press for Cameroon however the player to look at is Rigobert Song. He is the leader of the team, even with Eto'o and his goal scoring ability. Cameroon has two good midfielders in Alex Song and Jean Makoun, and a powerful goalkeeper in Carlos Kameni. They also have got Nicholas N'Koulou who might end up replacing Song in the future.

Japan will be making their 4th showing in the World Cup. They have moved on to the second round only once and that was in 2002. The team didn't truly look that powerful, however head coach Takeshi Okada was predicting big things for Japan in 2010's World Cup. They happen to be terrible in the recent friendlies losing to South Korea, England and Ivory Coast. Several individuals have stated that this game versus Cameroon is a must-win for Japan if they are to make it to the next round. Japan actually has some talent with Shinji Okazaki, Daisuke Matsui, Shunsuke Nakamura, Yasuhito Endo and Keisuke Honda. Japan does not have several offensive threats so they will need Okazaki to score.

This game between Cameroon and Japan was one of the tougher ones to guess. You only never know what you are going to get with Eto'o, however Cameroon is the stronger team. If Eto'o does not sho up then Japan might grab this game and put Cameroon at risk of not advancing from Group E.

However, the Japanese team shocked the odds makers when they actually won the game 1- vs Cameroon. In the 39th minute of the game, Daisuke Matsui snuck the ball past the Cameroon defense and handed off to Keisuke Honda, who kicked the ball past Cameroon's goalkeeper, Hamidou Souleymanou.

Cameroon actually made a number of shots at the Japanese goal and might have likely gotten at least 1 goal if it were not for Japan's stellar defense. It's a great thing that Japan was as focused on their defense as they were, as a result of the fact they undoubtedly would have lost the game if not for that. Eto'o did not perform also on Monday as he might have, which was also fortunate for the Japanese team. 1 goal was all it took to secure the Japanese team's ability to move on to the next round.
