Every insignificant thing counts when it comes to battling acne and keeping it in control. After all, pimples are not very big themselves, they just bother us in a huge way. Things we do that seem to be completely umimportant can have huge affects on our our skin. Depending on what big or small actions we take, the results can be significantly helpful or negative. Purposely following myths can certainly do more harm than good to your skin.

Here are a few things to consider if you do not want to see those pimples pop up.

DO:

1. Cleanse your face twice a day. When washing your face make sure the cleanser you decide to employ does not contain severe products that will irritate your skin. It is best to use products expressly designed for your skin type. When cleansing your skin and rinsing it with water (make sure to use plenty!), move from the neck to the hairline - that way you are not likely to spread hair build up over your face, as it can aggravate acne.

2. After you work out clean your skin immediately or as soon as possible, particularly if you have sweat during your workout..

3. Use a moisturizer for your skin type. Your skin needs some moisture as protection. Even skin that is already oily needs to be treated with a moisturizer fitting for your skin type. Your acne causing oil glands will work harder if you ovefry your skin.

4. Pick cosmetics made for your skin type.

5. Utilize products with fruit acids. They help to shed old skin cells and prevent pore clogging. You will be very pleased with the results, but be aware, they will take a bit of time, so be patient and stick with the treatment.

6. Severe environments such as wind can make your skin prone to infection so defend your skin against exposure to such conditions.

7. Shampoo your hair regularly. Oil glands on your scalp produce the same sebum as those on your face. Add hair care products residues and environmental elements that stick to your hair - and you have a super-effective acne causing solution.

8. Drink a lot of water to cleanse your body of toxins and keep your skin hydrated from the inside.

9. Take vitamins and consume a healthy diet. People who suffer from acne often do not get enough vitamin A in their diets (you might want to consult your medical doctor about that since large doses of vitamin A can be toxic). Zinc supplements are known to fight acne outbreaks. Healthy eating is good for all parts of your body. While diet changes alone won't spare you of acne, they will help your skin look better.

10. Consult with a physician if your acne is severe.

Do not:

1. Do not use drying cleansers and severe scrubs. They devastate the protective barrier and alter skin pH, making skin vulnerable and prone to infections. Astringents should be used on greasy areas only.

2. The hardest thing for most people is to steer clear of squeezing or picking pimples, put picking or seezing pimples is the most terrible thing you can do. It is okay to poke them with a sterile needle once they are mature.

3. Scratching or rubbing your face can aggravate your skin resulting in acne on a face that had a relatively clear complexion. It is best to keep your hands off of your face.

4. While tanning hides the blemishes fir the short term, the effect is short-term. Many acne treatment products make the skin sensitive to the sun. Your acne can be made worse from too much sun exposure. UV rays can lead to skin dryness, early aging, and destroy cells responsible for skin's immuniology.
