Located in the Australian state of Queensland, the Gold Coast lies between the state capital of Brisbane and the state of New South Wales. Being a beachfront city, the Gold Coast is one of the touristiest locations in Australia. This though has not stopped many expats and immigrants from choosing on moving to the Gold Coast when in Australia.

In order to better govern the area, the city has been divided into several districts. The center of tourist activities in the city is the place called Surfer’s Paradise. There are also residential suburbs, commercial areas for business and the area known as hinterlands that both the locals and expats can reside in once decided on moving to the Gold Coast.

Moving to the Gold Coast is not an easy task to do. It is considered as the epitome of the Australian way of life, with fun in the sun and laid back atmosphere. You need to understand that the cost of living in this area is quite high, owing to the area being a favored tourist destination. Also, the weather is much favored all year round, owing to the cool breeze coming from the Pacific Ocean. Even during the period of Australian winter, there is very little rainfall in the city. What ought to be prepared for are the tropical cyclones that pass along the Australian coast.

Aside from the tourist area, there is also other business to be conducted in the city. What is important though is being able to travel from one business district of the area to another. The urban planners thought that by partitioning the many business districts across the city landscape, the problem of traffic and congestion would definitely be lessened. One must have either their own transportation or be very adept with the use of the public transport system in order to get from one place to another.

The city’s biggest industry is still tourism. As the tourist season is practically all year round, it can be said that there is no off-season in the Gold Coast. This is good for those that have opted on moving to the Gold Coast, as the many support industries to tourism, be it hotels, restaurants, tours and others, would have many available jobs all year round.
