The Carbon Copy Pro Failure-Why Personal Branding Is More Important Than Sub-par Automated Systems

When people get started in home business, they typically feel like faces in a crowd. The aspects of marketing that drew them to the industry in the first place are the same things that cause them to feel isolated and overwhelmed by all the information on the internet.

Fact is most people who start home businesses are doing it as total śnewbies. They have no previous experience with internet marketing and in most cases feel intimidated by the prospect of getting themselves out there.

To some, automated systems like Carbon Copy Pro seem soothing. These systems advertise ease of use that lead to automated and systematic business growth. To a newbie, the idea of a "seasoned pro" creating your marketing sales letters and websites, then closing sales for you seems appealing.

This however is a poor business decision. One part that a new entrepreneur has right when they first look at the industry is that they are faces in a crowd. In order to really have all the success they see the big name marketers having requires doing what the big name marketers are doing. This is sometimes referred to as the , Do, Have Principle, and is particularly crucial with regards to marketing, and specifically when it comes to branding. In order to the person you want to emulate, you must first what they are doing in order to the level of success they have.

Personal branding is not only a great idea, it is essential for home business success. Sadly, CarbonCopy Pro does not provide this to its users. It is vital that you establish a relationship with your prospective business partners. Especially this day in age, with the economy the way it is, people are more cautious with how they invest their money. They need to trust the person with whom they partner in a business. And it begins with telling your personal story, sharing some insight into your business philosophies and inviting the person to learn more about you and what you have to offer.

A second piece of the puzzle is communication. CarbonCopy Pro tells you that they will close sales for you. They do this through a centralized call center, manned by experts in sales. There is a big drawback to this, however. If a person talks to an expert who is on payroll to close sales for you, they do not get the chance to speak to you first. This prevents any trust-building between you and your prospective business partner. Also, the person may get the impression that they must subscribe to this same system in order to be successful. This leads to a perception that there are more expenses for this service, more training on how to use it, and more complications in a business that should be relatively simple.

In the end, you are adding notoriety to a person or group, rather than creating your own brand. Why do you think those people are so successful? They are essentially putting you to work for them--AND CHARGING YOU FOR IT to build their brand and their name. For the same amount of effort, you can brand yourself and build vital marketing and communication skills that will enable you to be successful for years to come.

Here are some of the areas of marketing training that you should focus on (these are skills CCPro will not teach you).
-article writing and submission
-Google (and other search engine) pay-per-click advertising
-copywriting skills
-Web 2.0 and social media advertising (including blogging)
-basic website design (hint: do a keyword search and outsource this!)
-basic phone communication skills
This list may seem intimidating at first. If it is, please know that I began by thinking the same thing. But with a little research, some hard work, great mentorship and a little curiosity I have developed some tremendous skills which serve me to this day in my home based business.

Personal branding is not only a great skill set to have, it is a must in any home-based business. Having the ability to reach out and communicate who you are and what you have to offer people is vital to your success in any business. Don't fall for the Carbon Copy Pro inadequacies.Find a mentor who will teach you some vital branding skills, build some skills through your own study, and get your presence known on the Internet. It will make a world of difference if your prospective clients know who you are and what you have to offer.
