But what is it and how does it work as a diagnostic tool?

The Candida Spit Test is a really simple test that you do before eating or drinking anything in the morning. It is not meant to be a definitive diagnosis of a Systemic Candida infection, but it will give you an indication of whether your problems could be the result of a Candida overgrowth.

One of the advantages of this test is that you can tell the results to your doctor and they could then do further testing of blood and stool samples that would confirm the diagnosis.

What is the Candida Spit Test?

The Candida Spit Test has three stages;
Please make sure that you do this test first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything. Do not even brush your teeth!.

1. Fill a glass or clear container with clean water.
2. Work up a bit of saliva, then spit it into the glass of water.
3. Watch to see what the spittle does. Check back every 15 minutes, you will have a good idea of the result within an hour.

What Will Happen
There are three results that most people observe.

1. The saliva stays floating on top.
2. The saliva drifts for a time but over the course of the hour it becomes stringy and by the end of the hour there is some still floating on top and half hanging in the water.
3. The spit immediately gets stringy and after the first 15 -20 minutes has settled on the floor of the glass.

Reading the results.
