However, procurement sites do not have broader purpose though buying and selling is supported by them between businesses to business.

Another important and interesting category of B2B sites are Brokering sites between business to business. These B2B sites, as the name suggests, acts as a broker or an intermediary between business to business i.e., product and/ or service and its potential product/ service providers. Equipment leasing can be cited as an example for B2B site. Infomediary sites or in other words, Information Sites are also another kind of important B2B sites serving business to business. These sites provide information and knowledge between business to business about a specific industry for the purposes of its company and employees. These sites comprise in them B2B sites of Trade & Industry Standards Organisation and also specialized search sites for business to business.

There are more and more B2B evolving day by day for business to business. Software sector in building these type of B2B web sites are another important category to be noted. These sites include templates, site building tools, methodologies, database, and transaction software. B2B establishes an e-commerce between business to business. Before the advent of internet and online B2B, EDI, which stands for Electronic Date Interchange was used.
