There is new term for a kind of addiction that is fairly new to one’s hearing these days. We are all aware of course with the terms drug addiction, speed addiction, sex addiction, alcohol addiction and nicotine addiction. But there is another new term for a sweeter kind of addiction: Sugar Addiction.

So what exactly does Sugar Addiction mean? The term is given to a specific situation where people stuff themselves to the point of bursting with all kinds of sweet tasting food. These people could not even go one day without taking in sugar into their systems. As with most kinds of addiction, people are not fully aware that they are suffering from it. They go about their lives by simply saying they have a seriously bad case of sweet tooth. And then go on eating a whole twelve inch butter almond cake by themselves.

So in order for you to find out if you really have sugar addiction, here are some of the most common symptoms that you are badly hooked in eating sweets:

-If you try to go on for a day without eating anything sweet, you start having extreme headaches.

-You suffer from extreme tiredness and fatigue. You lack energy for the whole day.

-You become anxious and get depressed.

-You suffer from chills and slight tremors in your hands and knees.

-If you DO manage to get through one day without eating sweets, you obsessively think about eating something sweet.

-Whenever you feel slightly sad, you start eating sweet and high sugary food

-You start getting angry and defensive when somebody tells you that you eat too much sugar

-You cannot last a day without eating something sweet

-You cannot sit still or just be still for too long without munching on something sweet.

-You consume a lot and I do mean a lot of high sugary food like cakes, cookies, chocolate bars, ice cream, candies, etc.

-You often feel sleepy and grumpy and get depressed easily.

Every time you feel uncomfortable or stressed which, by the way, happens a lot of times in a day, you respond by reaching out for that bag of candy coated chocolates and start munching on them and you do not stop until that one pound bag is empty.

Unfortunately, sugar addiction can be just as harmful to your health as any other addiction. It is time to take control of your live and start replacing sweet treats with healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. Start slowly removing sweets from your diet and substituting fruit, crunchy fresh vegetables and drinking plenty of water to purge the impurities from your body. By gradually breaking your sugar habit you will avoid suffering from any withdrawal symptoms.
