Argentina has been among the most impressive squads thus far vs the World Cup probabilities at the sportsbook.

Lots of people that looked over sportsbook online probabilities supposed that Argentina would have difficulty under their emotional and sometimes not rational head coach Diego Maradona, but thus far Argentina has seemed superb.

Maradona has shown plenty of emotion in Argentina's 1st two wins and it is apparently carrying over to his squad. Argentina will likely win Group B, already having two wins. Lionel Messi made a number of fantastic plays while Gonzalo Higuain had the hat trick in a 4-1 beat of South Korea that they are coming off of. When Messi, who's the best soccer player on the planet, is on his game Argentina is almost impossible to beat. He hasn't played that well of late for his home team but he looks to be secure in this year's World Cup.

Argentina may have the best front line of any squad in the World Cup with Messi, Carlos Tevez and Higuain. Messi is capable of dominating a game and ripping through opposing defenses while Tevez and Higuain can finish. Messi wasn't even at his best against South Korea and he still created plenty of chances. If these three participants can avoid falling into ego battles and if Maradona doesn't do something dumb, Argentina could go a long way in the World Cup. Argentina may not have the best defense but thus far in this year's World Cup there doesn't look to be plenty of overpowering offensive expertise.

The round of 16 game definitely looks to be favorable for Argentina. They would encounter the second place squad from Group A if they win Group B as supposed. That squad will likely be either Mexico or Uruguay. Neither of those squads is really potent. If they confronted Mexico it will be an intriguing game since Mexico likes to press the action while they could have a more challenging test against Uruguay who has a strong defense. France and South Africa even now have outside shots but it seems to be Mexico and Uruguay that will come up from Group A.

The previous time Argentina progressed to the semifinals was 20 years ago, but they are proving to be rather the powerhouse in the World Cup. Their trip to the World Cup was also less than impressive. They opened up with three wins but then lost to Colombia and competed 4 straight draws. When their track record was 4 wins, 2 losses and 4 draws in 2008, Maradona took over. They then attained an simple win over Venezuela but then lost to Bolivia 6-1. It was the 1st time in 50 years they had lost an worldwide game by five goals. Then they lost to Ecuador, Brazil, and Paraguay. Argentina was in fifth place and in significant danger of not qualifying for the World Cup at all. They managed to beat Peru and Uruguay and only barely made it to the World Cup.

So far, Argentina looks like one of the better squads in the 2010 World Cup, though the Group stage is still in progress.
