Most of us have some sort of winding down routine before we go to sleep and this should be similar for your tot. Perhaps the sleep routine may perhaps begin with a bath, followed by a gradual dimming of the lights (so they realise it's getting nearly to sleep time), subsequently a change of nappy or diaper, putting them in the crib or cot and concluding with a bedtime tale or singing a lullaby.
