Trivani International® is dedicated to educating consumers about the potentially harmful chemical ingredients in their everyday personal care products. Trivani’s own personal care and nutritional products adhere strictly to their Do No Harm Philosophy™ which guarantees that they contain no known harmful ingredients and cause no known harmful interactions. What’s in the products you have in your bathroom cabinet right now? Odds are, they contain at least two or more of the following dangerous chemicals.
6) Parabens - Parabens are a class of synthetic preservatives widely used in cosmetic products, hair care products and personal care products. Several peer reviewed articles and scientific studies have linked parabens to breast cancer, DNA damage, and hormone disruption.
5) Oxybenzones - Oxybenzones are an organic chemical found in sunscreen, lotions and other cosmetics because it absorbs UVB and short-wave ultra-violet rays. This chemical has been linked to low birth weights in babies, hormone disruption, and reacts within the body to increase the production of free radicals. In addition, it is a derivative of benzophenone, which can actually attack DNA cells when illuminated.

4) Phthalates - Phthalates are chemicals which are responsible for the flexibility in most plastic products. Toys commonly contain this chemical; however, it is also a common ingredient in shampoos and hair care products. Phthalates are easily released into the environment because there is no covalent bond between the phthalates and the plastics in which they are mixed. Research has linked liver cancer to this chemical in addition to endocrine disruption, and in 2009 a Korean researcher found a positive correlation between phthalates and AHDH in small children.
3) Isopropenol - Isopropanol is commonly found in solvents with outlets in personal care products, cosmetics and even some food products. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), isopropanol can cause central nervous system depression at high concentrations. Prolonged skin contact with isopropyl alcohol can also cause eczema and skin sensitivity. On their website OSHA.gov, it states that acute exposure to isopropyl alcohol causes eye and mucous membrane irritation and may cause in-coordination and narcosis while ingestion causes gastrointestinal pain, nausea, vomiting, and may cause coma and death. This industrial chemical is a toxin, deemed unsafe by OSHA, and is a common ingredient among everyday household products.
2) Flouride - Flouride is a form of the element fluorine and is most commonly used in toothpaste and oral health care products. Research has proven that fluoride is toxic when consumed in large quantities and can cause brittle bones and teeth over time. Fluoride can also accumulate in the body. Other studies have shown that fluoride is neurotoxic and potentially tumorigenic if swallowed. Warning signs must now be placed on all toothpaste containers which contain fluoride, as mandated by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
1) Propylene Glycol - Propylene Glycol, commonly used as antifreeze, is a colorless, nearly odorless, syrupy liquid that is derived from natural gas. It is commonly found in a plethora of food products, hair care products, personal care products, lotions and body oils. According to OSHA, when handling Propylene Glycol in chemical laboratories, splash goggles, a laboratory coat, a vapour respirator, gloves and an approved/certified respirator or equivalent must be worn. Companies are fined thousands of dollars if their employees do not wear this protective gear, and yet companies are allowed to put them in shampoos, conditioners and food products!
While most companies may not be concerned with consumers’ health, Trivani International is. They specialize in personal care products, hair care products, and nutritional supplements that contain no harmful ingredients, and certainly do not contain any of the chemicals listed above. Trivani has a wide range of products available and include the best ingredients from the natural and scientific worlds.
