So, we have thought about what our niche is going to be, looked at reasons why we want to work from home, set-up our home office and organized it - NOW WHAT?

Now it is a good idea to start thinking about a business plan. Business Goals are how you benchmark your success. Setting goals today will make it much easier to see how far you have come in the future. The old saying of history repeats is important here. In other words without direction and knowledge of where we began we can not improve and become successful.

So, what is a business goal? Business goals are the engines that drive the methods, through their realization as scenarios. That is, business goals are forces that shape the architecture. Business goals are the goals that the business needs to reach in order to be successful. These are often very straight-forward, but difficult to achieve. Business goals are about achieving external results; personal goals are what the client has to do differently in how he/she conducts him/herself to get business results.

I can assure you if you need any financial backing or a bank loan for your business they will want to see your business plan. Not only can a business plan help you get financial backing, but it can also set a course of action for the future of your business. The key to starting any business is to stay focused, write your plans, and keep an optimistic mind.

Having a business plan is like planning your future; it is your guide to your success. Having a business plan is a must. It is simple to construct one. Having a business plan is the best way of helping the business develop and grow as you want it to. It clarifies what your goals are, and focuses your mind on designing your strategy to achieve them.

I know many people that have failed in big business, small business and other things simply because they did not have a plan. Having a business plan is simply a tool to document objectives and outline how they will be attained (1). A builder would not start out to erect a new structure, nor would a traveler begin a journey, without a plan. Having a business plan is crucial to your success. Without one, you're like someone who took off for a road trip across America without a map. Having a business plan is perhaps the most important part of a business start-up. Again, lack of planning is the number one cause of business failure.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel and do it on your own. Having a business plan is different from having a marketing plan. A marketing plan is the vehicle that will help you generate leads and promote your note business. Having a business plan is one way of securing a loan for your home business. In addition to that, you will also be more organized, thereby ensuring a proficient and dependable relation with your potential customers.
Having a business plan is essential to getting a realistic outline of what you have to do to get your business up and running. Many people are scared of even thinking about or writing a business plan as it may seem overwhelming to someone that has never written one previously. However, as I stated earlier you do NOT need to reinvent the wheel.

If you have never heard of the Small Business Administration or used their resources you are in for a surprise. The Small Business Administration is the largest source of long-term small business financing in the nation. Private lenders make loans and the SBA guarantees a percentage of the loan amount up to $1.5 million.

Small Business Administration is a proven federal enterprise whose programs are fully capable of stimulating local economies around the country.

The SBA website has many tools, resources, services and even a small business planner section where you can get started on your business plan. (Don't fall for the BUY and Download from auction websites or Adsense Ads before seeing what is available for free!) You will not be sorry as this is readily available to everyone and yet many people fail to take advantage of the free resources and information to help them succeed in their home business.
