Bali flights always land at Ngurah International airport and it's a quick 20 minute drive to Seminyak from there.

If you travel north from Kuta you'll find Seminyak which is a more refined area of Kuta. Seminyak is a more sophisticated vacation destination in Bali, and is aimed at the couple and family holiday makers. You'll find this district of Kuta much quieter and laid back. There are no groups of young people hanging around drinking and making a bother of themselves. That said staying in one of the Seminyak hotels is not dull, there is masses of entertainment on offer, but is more refined and intimate. Accommodation is commonly middle to top end and although it is a lot more costly that the bargain hotels of South Kuta, the rates are highly reasonable for the service and quality that you receive as a tourist.

Bali has created a wonderful tourism industry over the years and realizes that there are many different standards that various holiday makers are on the lookout for. The island is dotted with accommodation for all budgets, and the different areas have been separated to ensure that each tourist's particular need is catered for.

Booking a place to in one of the Seminyak hotels is reasonably straightforward as most of the resorts and hotels in the area have their own internet site that you can book through. Most visitors will come to Bali and stay through the dry season, April to Sept. However there are tons of people who still come in the rainy season October to March as the yearly temperature is a constant 30C.

Most of the resorts in Seminyak are exclusive and have different views and facilities on offer, if this is your first visit any hotel or villa will give you more than you would expect. Always book ahead to make sure the place you want to stay at has space for you and you don't end up staying in a hotel not to your taste.

Beware of the monkeys, they're all over Bali and will snatch anything that is hanging lose and easy to grab including your glasses. If they do happen to snatch something ensure that they aren't sitting next to a cliff and throw down some food. The monkeys will drop your item and go after the food. Although most travelers are warned far too many don't listen and end up losing things, occasionally even pricey jewelry.
