If you have ever seen a satellite view when looking at Google Earth or similar applications or internet sites then you be familiar with how spectacular they are. I never forget looking at my own house as seen by a satellite in orbit. It was awesome. First you see our great blue planet, next i typed in my zip or postcode and the planet turned to our country. Then it zoomed in further and closer until we could see the roof of my house. you can even see the neighbours trampoline in the backyard, woods, restaurants, nature reserves and more. It was a stunning view.

Something amazing about watching satellite images is that you can view real photographs from anywhere in the world, The Great Pyramid, The Coloseum, holes formed before man roamed the earth, and anything else you can think of. Your also able to save and share that wonderful satellite view with your friends how about adding some more interesting information such as where you got married, or the town you first lived in.

Another thing you can do after you have found your sight is your able to move and revolve the satellite view showing a more 3D or birds eye perspective on buildings, mountains and landmarks on the terrain. Some people have said to me if the photos are in real time and if you run around outside your house will you see yourself? The answer is no, we would need a lot of satellites out in orbit if this could happen.

The only downside that can happen, is your computer might not be powerful enough to handle the software or show the 3D images. But if your computer is quick enough you have numerous options to look at

Man Made Landmarks
You can literally waste unlimited time on Google Earth zooming in and all over the worlds big manmade items. It has turned into a major popular time killer for pc users these days. Seeing the Great Wall of China from the point of view of an orbiting satellite, for example, can justify its size. Simply the fact that it is visible from space and its size.

Natural Sights
It's also a lot of fun to browse the web for aerial images of the world's natural wonders. There are plenty to see in the US alone. The rainbow-colored hot springs of Yellowstone National Park, the huge gorge made by the Rio Grande, and the snow caps of California's Sierra Nevada are all astounding sights, especially when shot from low flying survey planes, which provide clearer images and angled scenes.

Google Street View
But perhaps the most popular feature of satellite sightseeing today is the ability to get into a street-side view of almost every major city in the world. I'm talking of Google Maps street view feature, of course, which allows you to go to virtually any city on the map and get a virtual tour of it. The images used for street view option are shot from thousands of car mounted cameras throughout the earth that take pictures every day to make street view option as current as possible. If you spend enough time searching, you can find some pretty entertaining candid pictures. Everything from a freeway car wreck to a guy who obviously drank a little too much the night before.

You will have so much fun seeing the planet images from Yahoo, Google and Bing even though Google Maps probably has the most extensive database of worldwide sights and the fastest response time for your viewing needs. So get searching the world now.
