There may be a little bit of the misdirect that we wanted to sell along with the reveal of him landing about the stage for the very first time is greater (with out that scene)." explained Favreau.

"The relationship involving Tony and Pepper is so special towards the market that if you let him and Scarlett get too flirty and close, the audience turns off incredibly quickly." added Favreau.

So in essence, these scenes was reduce to make positive the story could sustain the interest in the audiences.

Nevertheless, Favreau had confirmed that all of the reduced scenes will be available within the Iron Gentleman a couple of DVD.
