With motherhood come many new and very important responsibilities, caring for another human being can be tough, but extraordinarily rewarding. Mothers that want to go to college may think it impossible, but now with Barack Obama's increase on the Federal Pell Grant to $5,500, it allows many mothers to think about going toward a degree.

Many young girls growing up dream and plan to go to college to get a degree in something they are passionate about, but some get sidetracked and push it off, and then all of a sudden they are getting ready to have a family and think it is impossible. With the increase in the grant they can now go to a college and get that degree they have always wanted, it will help tremendously in being able to afford the ability to take class's, the amount of money it takes to raise one child can be over $200,000 a staggering amount, especially for a single mother who has to also work to make money to put food on the table. It's also good for a stay at home mom who may have a hectic schedule with multiple kids.

In today's job market it is getting harder and hard to find jobs that don't require a degree of a sort or another, and with today's economy the way it is, the jobs that are out there are going to be looking for people with the most experience and education. The degree will expand the mother's opportunities and may help them get out of that dead end or low paying job, this will put them into a good paying job and give them more leeway in their hours, vacation time, ability for benefits for not just themselves but also their family. The typical white collar job has these ideas in mind, knowing that the people working for them often have families and have worked for their education so they should be rewarded.

With having a college degree comes the feel of accomplishment and success, and the mother does not only feel that, their family does as well. Their children can look up to them more knowing that they went to college, and most of all got their education with a family at hand. The kids can look forward to going to school and can be inspired to get a good job and eventually have a family of their own. It would also be a good common ground the two would have mother and children to both be in school, (assuming kid(s) are hold enough) they can help one another with different obstacles and problems, while being able to spend time with each other.

With the Federal Pell Grant changed to increase the amount recipients get, this can move and inspire mothers to go and work toward getting a degree, it will be hard to do, but in the end will be worth in and very rewarding.
