Personalised Christmas Cards Are A Perfect Present Come Holiday Season

You received a message from a friend asking for help for the kind of gifts that he should give during the holidays. He said he did not have enough money and that he wanted to make his gifts special for his recipients. You would not have helped him, but he sounded so pitiful and in distress. Thus, out of the holiday spirit, you suggested that he should start making personalised Christmas cards for everybody who was in his Christmas list.

He could not believe your suggestion. He said that the last thing he wanted to receive was a card for Christmas. The same goes for all the people in his list. Challenged, you reasoned that the reason why people do not like Christmas cards is because most of the cards that they received were not properly made. If these cards were just fashioned and designed really well, they could actually make any event, not just Christmas, very special.

With what you said, he seemed to be very intrigued. You could tell that he was very interested with the idea. That is why he asked you another question. "So, how do you do that?" Here are some of the tips you gave him.

Firstly, make sure that you have an idea what kind of person your recipient is. You do not need to know that person that much. Just the basic idea about his interests will do. In fact, you can use bits and pieces of information about a certain person to make a card for him. The idea is to include something in the card that would send a personal feel to the recipient. You can include a quotation that he likes or that is applicable to his character. You can also include his picture or a picture that he likes.

Next, you need to look for layout designs that could go well with the elements you are planning to include in your card. When looking for designs, choose those that are simple. Do not go for those that have excessive graphics and screaming colors. They will just drown the personal touches that you want to add in your card. Always remember that layout designs are used to emphasize the effect that you want to give.

Then, after everything has been properly laid out, check all the cards for any typographical error, pictures going amiss, and the likes. No matter how well you crafted your design, if the card has these little mistakes, they would defeat the purpose of your card. Instead of impressing your recipient, they would have something to laugh at. Surely, you would not want your card to be the butt of jokes all year round. Allotting more time for the editing would save you from this impending doom.

Lastly, make sure that your printer delivers the kind of look you are envisioning. Some people who want to save a lot would go for second-rate printers. This is not at all very efficient. What good would your hours of hard-work in making the designs of your cards if the printer does not give justice to what you have made. Everything would just go to waste.

He did all of what you advise. Then, days after the holidays was over, your friend called you to say his thanks. He was very grateful for the tips that you gave him. He recounted how all of his friends were very happy with the personalised Christmas cards that they received. He even said sorry for doubting what you suggested at first. He never realized how much he was able to save just by inserting his imagination in the gifts that he had given out to his loved ones.
