“The death of virgin” painting was done in the year 1606 by an artist by the name Caravagio. He was an Italian. This painting was commissioned by a papal lawyer by the name Laerzio Alberti for the church in Rome. The depiction of this painting brought a rouse and was discarded by the Parish as being unfit for it. Later, the painting was brought back by Charles I, the Duke of England praising it as the best piece of art.
“The Birth of Venus” was a work of art produced by Botticelli. In this painting, a goddess Venus is depicted having come out of the sea as an adult female. The painting is held in Florence.
“Agony in the Garden” is a painting produced by Givanni Bellini in the year 1459 – 1465. The painting depicts Christ on his knees in prayer on the mountain of Olive with his disciples together with him (Ballarin, 1987)
Doni was a painting that was done by Michelangelo in the year 1503. It was created to celebrate the wedding of Florentine Agnolo Doni. The composition of this painting is borrowed from the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci’s and St. Anne. This painting is in the shape of a round frame that is mostly associated with marriage. It features the holy family comprising the baby Jesus, Mary the mother, and Joseph (Hartt & Wilkins, 2003).

Death of a virgin Versus Birth of Venus
In this painting, Venus is portrayed as a very beautiful goddess and as a symbol of the coming spring. During that period, in the Renaissance history, most of the paintings were of the Christian theme and the nude women were not depicted and when they were, they represented sinful lust. Most paintings were of Virgin Mary depicting her as a holy smiling woman (Hill, 2007).
On the other hand the painting of the death of a virgin, Mary is seen lying and dressed in a simple red dress. The lolling head and the hands that are hanging and feet that are spread are real view of the virgin’s mortal remains. The sacred character is only portrayed by a thin halo. The apostles who are surrounding are barely identifiable. The woman who is isolated in the forefront is in most cases recognized as Mary Magdalene. Presumably, the artist of this painting does not portray any element that can give a clue to define this picture. In this now useless body, there is respectful representation that can be traced in devotional paintings remains (Anonymous: Italian Paintings, 2009).

Doni Madonna versus Agony in the garden
The Doni Madonna painting is a picture that was possibly meant to extol the virtues of the marriage among Christians through putting its focus on the holy family. The artist of this painting reveals his artistic skill making a translation of his consciousness of sculpture in to painting and this is depicted in the highly polished surfaces and the qualities of sculpture of the group of people in ground that is forward.
On the other hand, agony in the garden portrays Jesus and his disciples in a prayerful mood. They are faced with agony, a representation of human suffering and need for prayer. The style of this painting is quite representational since it has the same scale and the proportion like that of a photograph.
