Brazil, 5-time World Cup champion, is one of the major favorites in World Cup wagering along with Spain.

The two teams are posted with World Cup odds of approximately 4-1. Along with Portugal, Ivory Coast and Korea, Brazil is in Group G. It is not an easy group but Brazil is predicted to win.

World Cup wagering odds list Brazil as a -130 favorite to win Group G. Portugal and Ivory Coast are the second possibilities to win that group at 3-1 while Korea is offered no prospect at 85-1. Anything less than a World Cup title will be considered a disappointment in Brazil, who is expected to win. Dunga, Brazil's manager, and star player Kaka are aware of the expectations.

Kaka, whose complete name is Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, is a midfielder for Real Madrid. His nickname is a common nickname for "Ricardo" in Brazil. He has been competing since he was 8 years old and signed his first professional agreement at age 15. He has received a number of awards, including both UEFA and FIFA Team of the Year, FIFA World Player of the Year, and FIFPro World XI.

Brazil is nearly always right there in terms of the World Cup final. In the past four World Cups they have reached the final three times and claimed it all twice. Four years ago they were eliminated by France in the quarterfinals.

Brazil didn't play great in the CONMEBOL region of World Cup qualifying although they still claimed the group. Brazil has a lot of talent including Kaka, goalkeeper Julio Cesar, Daniel Alves, Luis Fabiano and Maicon. Brazil opens up their World Cup play on June 15th in a game in which they should defeat Korea. The game 5 days later against Ivory Coast should be a lot more intriguing in World Cup odds.

A team that has won the World Cup 5 times definitely doesn't escape notice and a former player of the year should not escape notice as well although Kaka is not getting nearly the focus that Argentina's Lionel Messi is getting. All of the pressure is on Messi to have a good World Cup, but it's been a good year for him. Kaka could be in a very good position with less pressure for Brazil. Since Real Madrid did not make the quarterfinals of the Champions League, Kaka is also well rested. When Kaka is playing well Brazil is almost unbeatable. The Brazilians can lose when he is off his game. It doesn't seem likely that Kaka will be off his game in this year's World Cup and that makes Brazil a definite threat to win it all in World Cup betting.

Brazil has been training their players privately in their pre-World Cup training camp in Curitiba. From arrival, they were shut off from the world, even using a back door to avoid all the waiting fans at the airport when they arrived. Unsurprisingly the carnival-like atmosphere that followed training 4 years ago in Switzerland proved too stressful for the team. In a strongly criticized move, thousands of paying fans watched the team practicing for their game. Stated coach Dunga, "Obviously, we're not going to let it happen again."
