The figurines found in the Willow Tree Nativity collections are created with the same eye towards providing the viewer with peace and serenity that Susan's other works do. Each sculpture invokes the same emotion that one feels when they finish up in a major life changing event.

A person may need to commence with the small 6 piece nativity which has sculptures of a 14" Joseph, 11" Mary and baby Jesus, and the shepherd and animals. The 14 piece nativity scene gives on the six piece set with individual sculptures of the three sensible men, more animals, and a metal star backdrop. Each piece of the Willow Tree Nativity is chiseled in clay by Susan Lordi. The sculptures are then sent to China where they're copied using resin molds that contain each detail of the original sculpture. When the resin sculpture is finished, it is hand painted with four layers of thin water based paint and then was cured and sent to locations throughout the world.

The sculptures are traditional Willow Tree pieces, reflecting emotion, love, and compassion in subdued colors that don't contain decorations. The pieces are chiseled without faces so that a person can more easily engage with the feelings conveyed by the sculpture. The animals provide a pose that's calm and serene without any expression on their faces. A person will find that each piece appears to fit together to form a complete picture of love.

The Willow Tree nativity, like the other sculptures of the Willow Tree family are not intended to be placed in the outdoors. These pieces of art can get damaged when they are in wet or inclimate weather.

There are 4 different skin tones used when the figures are sculpted to reflect the variety of the nativity groups. The figures can be moved easily and placed in different locations on a nativity set. An individual may need to use the nativity as a part of their year round collection. The pieces provide the same beauty, peace, and serenity of the other sculptures designed by Susan.
