Multi-level Marketing Basics – Concentrating On Training Not Sponsoring

It is not uncommon for Multi Level Marketers to spend the bulk of their efforts on the activity of sponsoring new reps, with little or no focus on mentoring their new Associates. This will often lead to minimal duplication throughout an organisation and poor retention of team members, so how can this issue be remedied to give every rep in an organisation the same tools to succeed and who should be responsible for supporting the whole group?

The concept of focusing your time on supporting a group, even if your organisation is fairly small may appear to be counter intuitive, but try to put this feeling to the back of your mind and consider the benefits of having a comprehensive coaching system in place to coach everyone, not just distributors that you personally enrol.

Every time a new representative joins your organisation, one thing that must always happen is for them to realise that they are part of something much larger. If a representative joins your downline and believes that they are going to have to figure most things out on their own with just very basic coaching and next to no support then they will more than likely begin with very little motivation and commitment. This might be one of the main explanations why drop out rates in the MLM industry are so significant.

It is often the case that you can't always rely on everyone in your Downline to provide adequate coaching and support to keep a new rep enthusiastic and prepared to input the necessary hours and effort. This will be even more apparent as your downline becomes significantly larger, which is why it is necessary for you to acknowledge the responsibility of coaching all members in your group (or everyone who is willing to learn!).

If you study any of the MLM industry leaders then this is fundamentally what they encourage. Many of the top gurus not only adopt the responsibility of supporting their own , but also accept the responsibility of supporting their contacts who work in different opportunities. The way that this can truly be acomplished is by building a fully automated coaching system.

Remember that you have a duty of responsibility to everyone in your business, but if you are also able to coach others not in your company then there is a good chance that they will feel they know and respect you. Therefore there is also a reasonable probability that they could make contact with you if they feel unsupported in their present team and are willing to build a new downline in a different company. This means that the result of taking the time to help others can also boost your capacity to recruit new representatives indirectly.

You should now be able to understand the advantages of concentrating on developing a fully automated coaching system instead of focusing on sponsoring representatives, so consider altering your focus now to accelerate your productivity later.
