If anybody becomes successful in Internet marketing, it's guaranteed that they have a list. It's crucial to build a list of current or prospective customers.

Many people have had a laugh or two at some of the "men's health" ads that come into our Inboxes. Nevertheless, when talking about making an income on the Internet, the size of your list really does matter. The bigger your list, the more income you will make.

And, while we're on the subject, it's also important to have a successful squeeze page.. If your squeeze page is effective at getting people to opt in, the more rapidly you list will expand and the more subscribers you'll have.

How, then, can you build that large list? The newbie to Internet marketing almost always looks for a shortcut to achievement. After all, don't the ads say you can sit at your computer for 15 minutes a day and pull in $10,000 a month? The newbie isn't interested in working hard and being industrious in building a big list. The newbie wants the shortcut or secret to making easy money. They've seen too many ads that proclaim one secret or another--none of which seem to work.

That's the reason you see all those ads that promise the secret to online wealth. And, many beginning Internet marketers are still attempting to come across that elusive secret. And, they are more than enthusiastic to throw away big money to uncover that secret.

While offering the big "secret" is selling the magnificent dream, it isn't reality.

List building takes work. You won't build a very large list with just 15 minutes of daily effort.

One way people frequently use to build their list is to offer a free product to those who opt in.

Now, with some work you can build a list by providing a really first-rate free item. Plenty of people will be glad to subscribe to acquire your complimentary product. The big problem is, after a subscriber gets your free product, how do you induce them to open your future emails? And, how do you keep them from opting out of your list?

Your real objective is to give that keeps them reading your emails. This means you have to work at developing high-quality content

Consider for a minute all the emails you discover in your InBox each morning. How many of those emails do you actually open and read? Doubtless not very many. You know why you read so very few of those emails. The majority of those emails don't contain enough importance to spend your precious time reading them.

This is your challenge: Supply useful content to your subscribers. Your content must have a higher value than the activity your subscriber is planning in the next 10 minutes. Response rates for some of the best marketers hover in the range of 5-40%. If you want your emails to be opened, you've got to supply high value content.

It's not sufficient to have a large list. You've got to get your list members to open and look at your emails.

Both attracting new subscribers and keeping them reading are best achieved by creating high quality material. And this takes time, effort, and skill. Don't accept as true the propaganda about working only 15 minutes a day. Providing quality material takes time and effort.

Whether you are a newbie to Internet marketing or not, you are the closely held secret to making substantial money on the Internet. You are the greatest resource you have on hand to achieve something in Internet marketing. It's time for you to make your mind up if you are all set to use your most vital resource.
