Molds occur naturally in the environment. Outdoors, they play an important role in nature because they break down dead organic matter such as fallen leaves and dead trees or bushes, but indoors, mold should be avoided and controlled.

If the quantity of a particular type of mold is present indoors and is not present in the immediate outside environment, there is mold growing inside your home or building. However it is important to control the harmful molds because they can profoundly affect inhabitants' health and can lead to building damage.
The first step to mold control is air quality testing. Make sure you choose a good company to come and test your home's current mold state. Then you can get referrals for mold remediation. For minor mold problems, make sure you clean up the mold and fix the water problem that created the mold. If you clean the mold up, and don't fix the moisture problem, the mold will most likely come back.
