The Microsoft Sidewinder Gaming Mouse offers a wide range of customisation on both the hardware and software fronts, features an accessories box that can also be used to manage your mouse cable, and combines nearly every feature a gaming mouse can have in to a single device. Offering everything that the modern computer gamer demands from their mouse, this Microsoft gaming mouse goes the extra mile. This mouse offers more customization than any other mouse on the market.

As with the majority of gaming mice, the Sidewinder connects to your computer through a USB 2.0 cable. It features a 2 000 dpi sensor and the weight of the mouse can be customised for your needs with an adjustable weight kit. A 5 gram and three 10 gram weights allow you to find the weight that works for you. The accessory kit not only holds weights, but can be used to keep the mouse cable in check. The mouse cable can be fed through the case to leave as much or as little slack as you need for your gaming purposes. The weight of the case is good enough to hold in place without getting dragged around by the mouse, keeping the cable out of your way so that you don't need to reposition the mouse to avoid it.

The accessory case also contains within it three different mouse feet that can be attached to the bottom of the mouse. The options include Teflon, half Teflon, and plastic. In this way the mouse's glide can be adjusted based on your preferences and the type of surface you are using the mouse on. This gives you an amount of control over your gaming experience that you may not have considered before.

The sensitivity of the mouse's laser sensor can also be adjusted between three settings: 400dpi, 800 dpi, and 2 000 dpi. These adjustments can be made at a moment's notice using buttons located directly on the mouse. If these three options aren't enough, the software that comes with the mouse allows for more incremental settings to be chosen as well.

Five of the ten buttons on the mouse can be used for anything you want to set them up for. It also features the two main buttons, the scroll wheel, and two thumb buttons. The software allows one of the buttons to be assigned to Microsoft's QuickTurn feature, allowing you to turn around without having to drag the mouse to do so. It also includes a macro button that allows you to execute a series of commands simply by pushing a single button.

In addition, the mouse features an LCD screen that lets you know what dpi setting it’s on, and guides you through the macro making process. The Games Explorer button opens up the Games Explorer folder.

Over all, there is no other mouse on the market that offers as many options as the Microsoft Sidewinder Gaming Mouse, an essential piece of equipment for all hardcore gamers.
