MLM training is the one thing that you'll probably never struggle to get in your network marketing business. However, that being said, getting MLM training, and going through training that works are two entirely different things.
When I first got started in the MLM industry, I did a lot of things that didn't work. Now I've heard it said by people that if you just 'copy' what other successful people do, you can reach any level of success that you desire.
The problem with that statement is that it's not entirely accurate. For example - try copying what Henry Ford did to create wealth. Getting into business this year is different than getting into business was in the early 20th century - and the same thing applies to your MLM business.
There are different rules today, different regulation, and different ways of connecting with people. Let me share with you 5 concepts that will help you get training in your MLM business that will actually help you produce results.
1. Realize that the most efficient way to build an MLM business is by learning the skill of sponsoring large numbers of people. About 40 years ago - you could build an MLM empire by bringing in 30-40 frontline distributors. That kind of production model isn't very effective anymore - today this industry needs larger numbers to create leverage. Luckily, it's also WAY easier to sponsor today than it's ever been, so you can bring in 30-40 people per month with about the same amount of work that it would have taken to do that in 3 years when this industry was just getting moving.
2. Get training on how to leverage your business through technology. Think about it like this - is it better to wander around in shopping malls, talking to one or two people at a time, or to talk to thousands of people per week who are actively looking for the specific kind of business that you're offering? I would definitely choose the latter.
3. Learn the secrets of creating leads through online social media. Social media is the 'new Google' and just like fortunes were created through PPC in the early 2000's, the traffic and leads of the future are in understanding social networks. I've got a good friend that built a team of 10,000 reps all through online social media her first year in the business. Not bad!
4. Find a mentor who is getting results right now. Look, I know that it's cool to have an upline mentor that built the business in MLM 30-40 years ago, but keep in mind they might not know how to do it again today if they lost it all. It would be much more useful to plug in to someone who is getting results in 2010 than someone who got results in this industry 'a long time ago, in a land far, far away....'
5. STICK WITH IT! Look, I know you love to quit as much as the next guy - so let me give it to you straight - you've got to STAY AT IT to make this happen, but here's the cool thing - MLM has an alarming success rate when you get training from the right kinds of people and STICK WITH IT for a long period of time. So let's make it happen!
