MLM Genealogy Leads Are NOT The Key To MLM Success, Here's Why..

The two most essential things to have in place when you are building your MLM business is enough leads to keep your growth going and having a system that can automatically present your business opportunity.

Out of the several thousand possible lead creation techniques, one of the most popular things to do is to purchase a list of genealogy leads online. I wanted to discuss the different aspects, both good and bad, of purchasing these kinds of leads, as well as the moral and ethical questions that arise.

First, though, you may not be completely aware of what an MLM genealogy lead is. Basically, when a MLM company goes out of business, many times they will sell the personal information of all of their distributors to the highest bidder. After they sell it, the buyers usually market to the list, as well as market it online to whoever will pay. You can even occasionally buy lists of distributors who are active in their current company, believe it or not. These lists are obtained without consent from the distributors who are on them, often times in an unethical, illegal manner, from hacking into the company database, to a disenchanted employee selling names online - it is all the same.

If you want to build a business with integrity, it is unethical to purchase genealogy leads - how can you pretend you're conducting honest business when you're breaking SPAM laws and FTC regulations? These people don't know you, they didn't ask to receive information from you, and usually they don't want to hear from you when you call. Usually, their information was sold to you through a long series of unethical personal information sharing networks, and if you email them you are breaking federal SPAM laws that can get you hefty fines from the FTC. Overall, it is just not a smart idea.

Plus, who would want to be on the phone all day, calling irritated and disenchanted distributors who don't want to hear from them in the first place? If you can handle being on the phone and being told 'don't ever call me again' all day every day, go for it. You might want to scrub the list against the 'DO NOT CALL' database, as well if you don't want to pay the government any hefty fines.

So why is it that people persist in buying these lists if they are such a poor business strategy?

We've already talked about how most distributors in the MLM business simply don't have the kind of contacts to really be successful. My view is that instead of putting the work that's required to create these leads in an ethical way, they look for a 'quick fix' solution. Eventually after searching online for 'cheap leads' and 'free leads' they run into one of the various WebPages selling a fast solution - 'buy our genealogy leads' they say - and you eventually fall prey to temptation.

After they are finished hitting the telephone for hours and hours, it soon becomes clear that this is not any easier than sitting on a street corner begging random strangers to join their business.

Let me just convey that there is an easier way - simply visit the link in the resource box contained on this page and learn the strategies that are legal, ethical, fun, and will work long term.

To briefly conclude, purchasing any form of lists from genealogy companies will only waste massive amounts of your time. Oops, I didn't mention any sort of good points in this article about purchasing genealogy lists...

...The reason is because there aren't any good points - do something else with your time.
