Always envying your neighbor's shrubs and beautiful plants? Want to have a beautiful lawn but do not have the budget?

Well, you have come to the right place. If you think that the earth is a gift from heaven, landscaping is the right of any man.

For those of you who wish to perform this right on your garden but are held back due to budgets, below are some tips to low cost landscaping of gardens.

o When the talk about landscaping begins, people naturally assume that chemical fertilizers are the way to go. Years ago when the effects of chemical fertilizers to the soil and living beings were unknown, this may have been the case. But now, people have realized that though chemical fertilizers promise faster growth of plants and fruits, these plants are not healthy as those grown with natural and organic fertilizers. Besides, organic fertilizers are far cheaper than chemical fertilizers. These can even be prepared at home using a few natural ingredients.

o Saving water automatically leads to the reduction in the cost of lawn maintenance. This can be done in several ways:

- Collecting rainwater by placing a barrel under your roof's downspout
- Creating a rain garden that allows water to naturally seep into the ground
- Watering plants during sun down to avoid water evaporation
- Checking the soil for water before watering the plants
- Spread a layer of Mulch around plants in order for them to retain moisture
- Install the sprinkler in such a way that the water is fully used for the lawn
- Drip Irrigation - Injecting water directly to the roots of the plants without wasting water.

o Lawns also require a lighting system. Instead of using electrical energy, give solar power lights a try. These add an amazing effect to the landscape plus are extremely cheap compared to lights powered by electricity.

o Compost does not have to be purchased in bags from the local department store. It can be created in your own garden. This will not only save you thousands of dollars over the years but will help with the healthy growth of your plants, reduce the need for fertilizers and most importantly, reduce waste. Creating compost is an added effort to gardening but it is not difficult. All you need to do is pick a spot (a few square feet) in your garden, add organic substances like left over coffee grounds, fruits, teabags, potting and mix frequently. This is an excellent way to recycle nutrients back to earth.

o The gas mower is a growing trend among the youth today since it does not necessitate pushing the mower with one's own physical strength. However, gas mowers are expensive due to the rise in gas prices all over the world. Switching to a push mower is more economical in terms of the current economy. If the push mover hurts your back, there is also the electrical mower.

The electrical mower is more expensive than a push mower. But between the gas mower and the electrical mower, the electrical mower is the lesser of two evils.
